Humidifiers sized, installed and set for a Front Range winter by a licensed, insured Northern Colorado team.
WHOLE HOME HUMIDIFIER INSTALLATION IN NORTHERN COLORADO
By the team at Homegrown Heating and Air Conditioning
Whole home humidifier installation in Northern Colorado is a heating season problem with a heating season fix. Once the furnace starts running in September, indoor relative humidity in most homes here falls into the teens and stays there until spring.
We at Homegrown Heating and Air Conditioning install and set up bypass, fan powered and steam humidifiers on existing forced air systems. This page covers humidification only. Filtration and air cleaning are a different job and live on our indoor air quality page.

GOOD TO KNOW
WHOLE HOME HUMIDIFIER FAQS
What humidity level should I hold in a Northern Colorado home in January?
The EPA target range is 30 to 50 percent. In practice, with a Larimer County design temperature near 1 degree, most homes here run near the bottom of that range in deep cold and can climb toward the middle in milder weather.
Is there a rebate for a whole home humidifier in Northern Colorado?
No. Efficiency Works, which serves Fort Collins Utilities, Loveland Water and Power and Estes Park customers, does not list it. Xcel Energy does not list it. Poudre Valley REA does not list it. Rebates in this market cover heat pumps, envelope work and thermostats, not humidification.
Why do my windows fog up after the humidifier runs?
The setpoint is higher than your glass can carry at that outdoor temperature. Lower it. Persistent condensation in a Front Range winter is a sign of an incorrect setpoint, not of a defective humidifier.
How often does a humidifier need service in this climate?
At least once each heating season, and that means before the season rather than during it. Mineral scale on an evaporator pad or a steam canister is the most common reason a humidifier stops keeping up here, and it builds through a long heating season.
Do you install humidifiers outside Fort Collins?
Yes. We cover Loveland, Greeley, Windsor, Timnath, Johnstown, Wellington, Berthoud, Laporte, Estes Park, Severance, Eaton, Ault, Evans, LaSalle, Kersey, Milliken, Platteville, Fort Lupton, Firestone, Longmont, Lafayette, Boulder, Bellvue, Livermore and Masonville from our shop in Fort Collins. Estes Park sits at 7,530 feet and runs about 28 percent more heating degree days than Fort Collins, which changes the sizing. Our Fort Collins service page covers city specific requirements.
